British clothing retailer Topshop/Topman opened its new Michigan Avenue store (in the former Border's space) in grand style, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a runway show of Fall/Winter looks and a guest appearance by Miley Cyrus (who, we're told, partied with TOC editors last night at Paris Club and shopped at the store with other VIPs on Wednesday). Once the fanfare faded, the doors opened—and we're presuming the threads flew off the racks.

The singer Tweeted the words "All LOVE is Equal," last night, along with her new tattoo, which is an equal sign. Check it out below:

Cyrus has made her views on gay marriage well known over the years. She spoke out against Carrie Prejean in 2009 and she brought up the topic in contrast with the Casey Anthony verdict a few weeks ago.

In this example, someone disagreed with Miley over Twitter, which prompted the following response: "where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn't. GOD is the only judge honey. 'GOD is love.'"

Miley Cyrus has something fuzzy to keep her warm on those long flights – a puppy!

The singer was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday holding a new furry companion, which she later introduced on Twitter.

"I'm so in love with him it is ridiculous," Cyrus, 18, wrote. "His name is Floyd."

The puppy looks like it could be a husky or an Alaskan klee kai. Little Floyd joins Cyrus's two other dogs, German shepherd Mate and Morkie Lila.

From portraying a school girl and an undercover pop star on screen in Hannah Montana, to becoming an actress and an international pop sensation in real life, Miley Cyrus has had a dream run. The 18-year-old American singer concluded her concert tour – ‘Gypsy Heart Tour’ – in Perth, Australia recently.

Gypsy Heart Tour was Miley’s third concert tour after the Best of Both Worlds Tour and the Wonder World Tour. The tour which was primarily conducted for the promotion of her studio album Can’t Be Tamed, began on April 29, 2011, in Quito, Ecuador and ended on July 2, 2011 in Perth, Australia.

Interestingly, the promotions for Gypsy Heart Tour brought Miley Cyrus back on twitter. It’s a notable fact that her twitter account is by the name of @mileycyrus! Miley had earlier quit twitter in 2009 owing to the fact that the tabloids were employing her tweets as news for their stories!

Well, amidst all the Gypsy Tour concerts in South America, North America, Asia and Australia, what didn’t leave Miley alone were controversies! From the braless photos tweeted by her (where she intended to show her pigtails but the journalists saw something else!) to the leaking on the web of her topless photo while getting tattooed, to the paparazzi clicking her and her mother in bikinis at a beach in Brazil, Miley encountered it all!

But what followed all these controversies was the successful completion of her tour! All the venues witnessed a jam-packed attendance.

Miley Cyrus has finished writing her autobiography at the age of 15. She has apparently been paid with a seven-figure sum to narrate her life accounts.

The book recounts the singer's childhood days and her upbringing, especially as a daughter to the renowned country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, reports the Sun.

It shall further "reveal how her solid relationship with her family, especially her mother Letica, helps her navigate the spotlight."

Miley said: "I'm not sure when it's going to come out.

"It" finished but you've got a long process of editing and all that kind of stuff, so it takes a while."

Pop sensation Miley Cyrus is loving London, or perhaps, rather, the boys in London.

"I've already fallen in love with 20 guys since I've been here," said Cyrus to BBC reporters at a Switch Live gig.

"The accents sound so intelligent. I love the way the guys are so classy and wear trenchcoats," the 15-year-old Hannah Montana star said.

On The Record: Commence The Nonsense Picking a winner at the Video Music Awards is a lot like trying to comprehend Courtney Love's MySpace blog or explain this photo of Metallica's James Hetfield. It's impossible to do because it follows no discernable logic. From the ever-evolving field of categories (Ringtone of the Year, you will be missed) to the methods by which the nominees and winners are selected, the VMAs have managed to spin a wholly singular world for themselves in which reality does not always apply. And in the process, they've also created a legacy that makes writing things like "2006 Video of the Year: Panic at the Disco's 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies,' " and "multiple-award winner Ricky Martin" possible. Of course, it has also made for some fantastic things too — like some of the winners of Best Rap Video and Best New Artist. And this year, things are threatening to make even less sense than usual, because fans have done a lot of the picking (note: the Best New Artist poll is open until September 7), a move that has opened the awards to an even less reality-based realm: the world of online fandom. The results include things like Britney Spears — whose appearance at the VMAs was just announced — and the Pussycat Dolls landing Video of the Year nods, the Jonas Brothers and Tokio Hotel going head-to-head for Best Pop Video, and Danity Kane have as many nominations (two) as Rihanna and Mary J. Blige ... combined. When I looked at this year's list of VMA nominees, I was confused — so, naturally, that meant I had to write a column about it. And since I am a glutton for punishment, I decided to try the impossible: apply some logic and attempt to predict the winners of the 2008 Video Music Awards. Please note that I have no advance knowledge of any VMA winners. The way 2008 is shaping up, maybe we'll just have everyone win. BEST MALE VIDEO Nominees Chris Brown "With You" Lil Wayne "Lollipop" Flo Rida "Low" T.I. "No Matter What" Usher "Love in This Club" Logic Would Dictate: Since T.I. went to the trouble to make a solid, simple (and really pretty powerful) video, he'd be the one to take home the Moonman. But Illogically: Hey, Wayne's clip has half-naked dancers and a party bus in it! And it takes place in Vegas! And there's this one part where he sorta plays guitar, too! Plus he sold a million albums in a week! WOOOOOO! So, The Winner Is: I'm gonna say that substance trumps style here and T.I. comes out on top. Of course, that means I will be wrong and Flo Rida will win. Also, did you know that in 1985, Bruce Springsteen won this award? That thud you just heard was me slamming my head against my keyboard. BEST FEMALE VIDEO Nominees Mariah Carey "Touch My Body" Katy Perry "I Kissed a Girl" Rihanna "Take a Bow" Jordin Sparks "No Air" Britney Spears "Piece of Me" Logic Would Dictate: Mariah's album and Jordin's solo career aren't exactly setting the world on fire, and Britney Spears is barely known as a recording artist anymore, so that's 60 percent of the category eliminated right there. It's really a toss-up between Rih-Rih, who's arguably the hugest pop star in the world right now, and Katy Perry, who, based on the ubiquity of "I Kissed a Girl" (seriously, it's like a zombie at this point — it cannot and will not be stopped until it feasts on your brains) is quickly becoming the Jonathan Stewart of the VMAs: She's a definite sleeper pick. But Illogically: OMG, did you know Mariah and Britney have been nominated for something like 384 VMAs but neither of them has ever won an award?!?! These transgressions must be rectified! So, The Winner Is: I think Britney gets her win later in the night, and Rihanna makes too much sense here, so hey, let's just go ahead and give it to Katy Perry. She kissed a girl, after all. And she liked it! BEST DANCING IN A VIDEO Nominees Chris Brown "Forever" Danity Kane "Damaged" Madonna "4 Minutes" Ne-Yo "Closer" Pussycat Dolls "When I Grow Up" Logic Would Dictate: I'm still trying to figure out why this category isn't called Best Dance Video anymore. Quickly realizing that the question is moot, I'll move on to the begrudging confession that this is a pretty solid field, and realistically, four of the five noms have a legitimate shot at winning here (sorry Ne-Yo). Perhaps the sympathy vote swings to Madonna, if only because she somehow managed to avoid shattering her hip in "4 Minutes" (five minutes might be a different story ...) But Illogically: Chris Brown is hot! PCD and Danity Kane are hot! Everyone is hot! Advantage: Push. So, The Winner Is: In a pinch, I'll say PCD. One of them can stick her leg straight up in the air. Which one? Does it even matter? BEST ROCK VIDEO Nominees Fall Out Boy "Beat It" Foo Fighters "The Pretender" Linkin Park "Shadow of the Day" Paramore "CrushCrushCrush" Slipknot "Psychosocial" Logic Would Dictate: Slipknot rock way harder than any of the other nominees here (probably more than all of them combined) and they made a killer video (that could probably actually kill you), so they win going away. However, do not discount the Foos wrangling the grizzled old dude (read: over 30) vote ... er, who am I kidding? Over-30s don't vote in these things! But Illogically: FOB have Pete Wentz. Paramore have Hayley Williams. Linkin Park are arguably one of the 10 biggest rock acts on the planet (wait, that's actually logical). The Foo Fighters are old. Slipknot are too scary. So, The Winner Is: Paramore. They've blasted out of nowhere and a win here is icing on the cake. Also, it's about time a female-fronted band won this award. BEST HIP-HOP VIDEO Nominees Mary J. Blige "Just Fine" Lupe Fiasco "Superstar" Flo Rida "Low" Lil Wayne "Lollipop" Kanye West "Homecoming" Logic Would Dictate: Mary J's video is completely batsh-- crazy, so it would be awesome if she won. Kanye could win, if only because show producers are probably hoping to avoid a full-blown hostage situation backstage. Weezy is probably the biggest name in hip-hop right now, so it would make sense for him to take home the Moonman. Also, Lupe Fiasco's name-recognition doesn't come close to any of the others here, so he's out. But Illogically: Lupe is your favorite rapper's favorite rapper! He's the truest hip-hop cat in this category! He's got the cred and ... ah, who am I kidding? So, The Winner Is: Wayne. This is his moment, even though I am 85 percent sure he's not even aware that he's living in it. BEST POP VIDEO Nominees Danity Kane "Damaged" Jonas Brothers "Burnin' Up" Panic at the Disco "Nine in the Afternoon" Britney Spears "Piece of Me" Tokio Hotel "Ready, Set, Go!" Logic Would Dictate: By far the most heated category of the night, particularly if you're a 13-year-old girl or a cat-hair-coated shut-in, Best Pop is either gonna go to the squeaky clean Jonas boys or the follically fabulous Tokio Hotel. For they are the Highlanders of tween pop, and there can be no other way. But Illogically: Hey, Britney's in this category, and stranger things have happened. And the most illogical move would be to give this to Panic, so you can't count them out either. So, The Winner Is: The Jonas Brothers. The unstoppable, hormonally charged train rolls on — which is a shame, because Tokio Hotel's acceptance speech could've been the most amazing thing of all time. BEST NEW ARTIST Nominees Miley Cyrus "7 Things" Katy Perry "I Kissed a Girl" Jordin Sparks "No Air" Taylor Swift "Tears on My Guitar" Tokio Hotel "Ready, Set, Go!" Logic Would Dictate: Miley, Miley, Miley. And more Miley. She's a ginormous, borderline frightening global brand at this point, and I actually like her song, so she'd be the logical, smart choice. Although Tokio Hotel fans are beyond fanatical, and since online voting is determining BNA, they might actually be the favorites here. Taylor Swift is legitimately talented, but hey, don't hold it against her, voters! But Illogically: Jordin Sparks is a very nice, very sweet girl. She won "American Idol." People seem to like her. Her dad played in the NFL. So ... uh, did I mention Katy Perry likes kissing girls? So, The Winner Is: I'm saying Miley, but it could very well be Tokio, too. Regardless, tweenage hearts will be broken. (Also, three of the song titles have the word "up" in them. Wonder what that means ...?) Logic does not apply. But Illogically: If you've been paying attention, you've probably heard that poor Britney has been nominated 19 times for a Moonman, but she's yet to win a single one. Hannah Montana star Cyrus has spoken out about her relationship with the teen hunk, insisting they were in love before splitting last year (07). But Jonas reportedly quickly put the romance behind him, and hinted at a relationship with Cyrus' rival Disney star Gomez. And elder Jonas Kevin has made it clear which young lady he's a fan of, by wearing a t-shirt emblazoned 'Team Demi (Lovato) and Selena'. Cyrus was forced to apologise last month (Jul08), after allegedly poking fun at Gomez and teen star pal Lovato in an online video.

Miley Cyrus overshadows her 'Hannah Montana' character with new album

Hannah Montana may be the most potent phenomenon in Hollywood right now - bigger than Batman, bigger than Brangelina. Yet these days, the girl who truly fascinates is not Hannah, but Miley Cyrus.

The 15-year-old face of the billion-dollar Disney franchise is no longer a star for just the tween set: She's intriguing people who turn the pages of Seventeen magazine, as well as Us Weekly and Vanity Fair. While "Hannah" is still very much a part of Miley, it does not solely define the singer/actress.

Nowhere is that clearer than with the release of Miley's latest album, "Breakout," which comes out Tuesday. While Miley has already sold millions of albums, it's always been with the "Hannah Montana" moniker attached.

But there's no blonde wig to be found on the cover of this CD. Instead, there's a more mature sound that's already finding an older audience. The CD's first single, the rocker "7 Things," is now No. 9 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and marks her biggest success in translating her music beyond the Radio Disney audience.

"To be played on these radio stations is awesome, to be able to rock out to it in your car without planning it, without it being just a kids channel," said Miley, who with her deep voice and self-assured manner seems a decade older that 15.

"(I'm) making it a little more fun and edgy, and I think being able to step out of the 'Hannah Montana' thing - not in a way where I'm forgetting her completely, but as my fans grow up, me growing up too and kind of having my own person."

The "Hannah Montana thing" is familiar to millions of kids and adults alike. A movie is due out next year, the third season of the kitschy TV show starts filming in weeks, and the DVD of the blockbuster "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds" tour, which wrapped up earlier this year, is a lock to top the charts when it debuts later this summer.

But navigating her own celebrity path outside the confines of famous character has proven to be difficult. With former teen phenoms like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears providing epic examples of bad behaviour, and the nude photo scandal involving Disney "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens, tabloids have been eager to document a Miley implosion.

The first signs of potential concern came in the form of personal pictures that made their way onto the Internet, showing Miley dressed provocatively (though not obscenely) and setting the blogosphere abuzz.

A more serious firestorm erupted in April when Vanity Fair published a photo of Miley wrapped in a sheet, showing her bare back and shoulders. The photo caused such outrage that no less than The New York Times chronicled the controversy, and Miley and her father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, said they regretted the result of the photo shoot. They also said she was never topless, as the photo by the esteemed Annie Leibovitz suggested.

But Miley has learned she doesn't even have to bare a shoulder to cause a fuss - as when she revealed in an interview earlier this month that "Sex and the City" was one of her favorite shows.

"It just scared people because there was the word 'sex' in the title, you know what I mean?" said Miley, brushing off her critics.

"Just because that's what the show is about that doesn't mean I'm doing that ... you don't all the sudden become the character that you watch," she added.

While allowing that she's made "mistakes," she also feels that the media has been unforgiving in their scrutiny at times - and a bit unwilling to see that she's not a little kid anymore.

"It's kind of hard to let someone that was so young when they started kind of grow up," reasoned Miley, who was 13 when she debuted in the role. "You just have to realize that people make mistakes and that makes you almost a little more relatable."

Hollywood Records A&R executive Jon Lind, who worked with Miley on the "Hannah Montana/Meet Miley Cyrus" album, said such scrutiny is just a part of today's tabloid world.

"I don't think she's really done anything scathingly wrong, but I think there's a lot of people selling a lot of magazines following her around, making her into the next somebody, and I don't think that's fair - she's not the next anybody as far as I can see," he said.

He added that he's seen a significant growth in Miley in just the past year: "The difference between being a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old in any tween or teenager's life is an extraordinary amount - it's like dog years."

Much of that growth is reflected on her new CD. While she co-wrote a majority of the songs on the "Meet Miley Cyrus" half of the last record, on "Breakout," her songs have a weightier tone, discussing the environment, breakups and relationships.

"She always reached the adult audience, because she always reached moms. It's just in a way that radio finally started to acknowledge," said Sean Ross of Edison Media Research, which tracks the radio industry. "'7 Things,' ... has a little bit of an Avril Lavigne-thing going; it sounds like an adult record."

"There are lots of people who wouldn't necessarily wanna buy or listen to a 'Hannah Montana' record because of their predisposition to the Disney television character," said Lind. "But if you listen to this record as an artist, the quality of her voice, the quality of her writing, and the quality of the production, I hope, as she does, that it will be taken seriously by (an) older music audience."

"I hope I get respected a little bit more as a writer," said Miley. "I want them to respect me and know that I have a lot to say, I have a lot for the world to know and take away from what my life experiences have been."

She's also hoping to show more of those life experiences in her acting. She'd like to do some independent films and play gritty characters: "I do wanna, like, showcase a little more of what I can do, and also some different situations ... I would like to do something that was a little more deep."

She's even hoping to add a little bit more of an edge to "Hannah" next season.

"There's some things that I want to reinvent with her look, and not make it all sparkles and butterflies, you know? Some stars, and some black rock 'n' roll stuff," she said. "I did want it to grow up a little bit."

But lest anyone fear that she's growing up a bit too much, she's quick to point out that's she hasn't grown out of "Hannah."

"I probably won't tour again as a 'Hannah Montana' tour ... I'm kind of past that stuff. But I definitely wanna keep doing my show. I love doing (it) and I wouldn't wanna give it up quite yet."

Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers Together In Upcoming Concert

With all the bad press surrounding young celebrities, it is nice to report on some good news for a change. Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and others will perform during Disney's Concert for Hope. The concert will benefit cancer research and treatment programs at the City of Hope.

The Disney concert will be held Sunday, September 14, at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City. Tickets will become available Saturday, August 16 at 10am.

Miley Cyrus has already raised more than $1 million for cancer research at the City of Hope when she donated $1 for each ticket sold on her “Best of Both Worlds” (Hannah/Montana/ Miley Cyrus) concert tour.

The American Cancer Society estimates that 1,437,180 people will be diagnosed with cancer in 2008.

Sounds childish, right? Well don't forget, these are just kids. Cyrus gave her interview where she spills all of the Nick Jonas secrets in the September issue of Seventeen magazine. Miley says that she took the break up very hard and cried for a month before beginning her rebellious stage.

Her racy photos scandal that showed her in everything from a wet t-shirt to pictures of Miley in her underwear came post Nick, but many of the saucy snaps were taken to please Nick, reports have claimed. Will Miley reunite with Nick or is happy with Selena. The teen catfights may be just getting underway.
